Slow Dough Bread Co is a family-owned business. Our family has been in the baking business for over 130 years. Founded in 2009 by 5th generation baker Heath Wendell and his wife Marlo, Slow Dough Bread Co is now one of the largest all-natural bakeries in Texas with over 500 wholesale accounts.
We have a modern manufacturing plant, capable of producing large volumes of high quality, fresh and frozen bakery products and deliver our fresh breads daily in Houston, Austin and San Antonio with our own fleet of Slow Dough trucks. We also have the ability to distribute frozen product nationwide.

Every step of our baking process- from sourcing ingredients to delivering fresh bread, is done with time and care.
In order to supply all our customers, we buy 80,000 pounds of flour every week.
Our latest production equipment is a Koenig bun, roll, hot dog and hoagie line, capable of producing up to 9,000 units per hour.
We have three artisan deck ovens and eight rack ovens. They are operated by seasoned bakers who pull the bread when it looks just right.
We currently have 15 Slow Dough trucks in our fleet and you’ll see them on the road 7 days a week all over the great state of Texas.
